When people visit Balia today, they often see a household staffing agency helping families find nannies, family assistants, household managers, and other household professionals. What they don't always see is how it all started.

Like many small businesses, Balia began with a simple idea and a lot of determination.

Before founding Balia, I spent years working in childcare, supporting families, and building relationships with caregivers. I also worked in corporate administration, executive support, and project management, where I learned the importance of organization, communication, and helping people navigate complex situations.

Over time, I noticed a common challenge. Families were often overwhelmed when it came to finding reliable support for their homes. Caregivers struggled to find opportunities that were the right fit. The process felt impersonal, rushed, and sometimes frustrating for everyone involved.

I believed there had to be a better way.

What started as a small idea grew into a family-owned agency built on relationships, trust, and personalized support. There were no large investors, no fancy office buildings, and no overnight success stories. Like many entrepreneurs, I started with long days, late nights, plenty of uncertainty, and a willingness to learn as I went. All while working a FT Career.

As a mother myself, I understand how personal these decisions can be. Inviting someone into your home and trusting them with your children, household, and daily routines is never something to take lightly. That's why Balia has always focused on getting to know both families and candidates beyond what is written on paper.

Today, our mission remains the same as it was in the beginning: to thoughtfully connect families with exceptional household professionals while providing a level of care, communication, and guidance that larger agencies often cannot.

While Balia has grown, our values have not changed. We are still a family-owned business that believes in treating people with kindness, honesty, and respect. Every family has a unique story, every candidate has unique strengths, and every successful placement starts with understanding both.

Looking back, I am grateful for the humble beginnings that shaped this company. They remind me daily that behind every inquiry, every placement, and every conversation is a family searching for support and a professional looking for the right opportunity.

And that is why Balia exists.
